I prayed to God in heaven above

to let me know just once what love was.

To just once share that much joy, even pain.

To know the blushed heat of desire, of passion without shame.

To experience just once belonging to another,

that feeling, emotion that is forever.

So God please give me just one moment in time

to know what love was meant to be.

When you first looked into my eyes

I knew God had answered my prayers.

For how else could just a man

touch each part of me

bringing my heart and soul from slumber to wake

by the intensity of his loving gaze.

So if I have just this one moment in time

I know what love was meant to be

The man standing in front of me.

As your hand first caressed my skin

I knew that God had answered my prayer.

For how else could just a man

with the palm of his hand

make me feel as you do.

Feel as if I was always designed to love you.

So if I have just this one moment in time

I know what love was meant to be

The man standing in front of me.

I pray to God now that you are gone

to have back just that one moment in time.

To experience again the love, the desire.

To know once again the intensity of the fire

created and fanned by our two hearts

beating, if only for a time, as if they were one.

The man, now only in my memory

once standing in front of me.
